The article within Corriere della Sera stated that after a design and bureaucratic process lasting over six years, the agrivoltaic asset in Giugliano, Campania is officially coming to fruition.
The article featured Gianluca Boccanera, Global Managing Director of Starlight, he commented : “We want to revitalise an area that has been negatively affected for too many years, from an economic, environmental and social point of view. The aim was to involve local farmers and develop a co-design model that could be exported to other contexts, both nationally and internationally”.
The Giugliano in Campania plant, which will be built in the localities of Provvidenza, La Pigna and Cinistrelli, will have a capacity of 73.5MW and will cover an area of approximately 130 hectares, with an expected production of around 130 GWh per year. Based on average consumption, the park should therefore meet the energy needs of approximately 48,000 households, the equivalent of a city the size of Padua or Taranto, and generate savings of up to 60,000 tonnes of CO2 per year.
