Who does it

Gianluca joined the NextEnergy Group in 2008 and is currently responsible for the entire development platform of Starlight. 

Previously he headed NextPower II, a private equity fund managed by NextEnergy Capital which was successfully exited at the end of 2021 after having invested €232 million in operating solar PV assets in Italy. Gianluca has over 15 years of experience in the renewable energy sector, spread across different areas, from the development to the financing, construction and then technical, administrative, financial, accounting and fiscal management of solar PV assets in various jurisdictions. 

Before joining the NextEnergy Group, he worked in the investment banking industry for 6 years, across different financial institutions (Calyon, Mediobanca, Dresdner Kleinwort and lastly Morgan Stanley) and countries (Italy and UK), gaining extensive expertise in the energy and infrastructure sector, having worked on several landmark M&A and capital market transactions closed in various countries. 

He graduated cum laude in Business Administration with a major in Corporate Finance at the Bocconi University (Italy) in 2003. 

Davide joined the NextEnergy Group in 2013 and he is currently responsible for the international expansion of Starlight, having assisted the entrance of the Greek market as well as the Canadian and the Romanian ones. He is also in charge of the investment activities of NextSTEP, the clean-tech business accelerator of the NextEnergy Group and the University Ca’ Foscari of Venice dedicated for start-ups involved in the broader sustainable environment. 

He was the first employee in the UK branch involved in the set-up, launch and management of NextEnergy Solar Fund and was then promoted to Investment Director to assist the set-up, acquisitions, refinancing and management of NextPower II, a private equity fund managed by NextEnergy Capital which was successfully exited at the end of 2021 after having invested €232 million in operating solar PV assets in Italy. 

Previously he was a consultant in Nuvolab, a digital and clean-tech business accelerator based in Milan, where he had the opportunity to study some cutting-edge technologies in the green industry space. Beforehand, he worked as an Analyst in Prothea, a financial advisory boutique focused in the renewable energy industry in Italy. Moreover, he had the chance to develop, build and sell several solar PV plants in South Italy and in Piedmont. 

He graduated with a Master of Science in Administration, Finance and Control from Bocconi University in 2010. 

Stefano joined the NextEnergy Group in 2016 and he is currently responsible for the Italian pipeline of Starlight across various technologies (solar PV, batteries and wind). 

Previously he was Investment Director at NextEnergy Capital, actively contributing to the deployment of the capital raised by NextPower II, a private equity fund managed by NextEnergy Capital which was successfully exited at the end of 2021 after having invested €232 million in operating solar PV assets in Italy. 

Stefano has extensive experience in the renewable energy sector with a focus on M&A, asset management and structured finance transactions for both debt and equity side.  He began his career with 5 years of experience in a financial advisory boutique and he then progressed working as Investment Manager in Enfinity and then Elicio, both renewable energy independent power producers operating internationally, and further as advisor managing several portfolios of solar PV assets in Italy for different institutional investors. 

Stefano holds a master’s degree in Economics at Bocconi University of Milan in 2004.

Lorenzo joined the NextEnergy Group in 2016 and he is currently supervising the valuation and budgeting activities of Starlight. 

Previously he was a Vice President at NextEnergy Capital, actively contributing to the deployment of the capital raised by NextPower II, a private equity fund managed by NextEnergy Capital which was successfully exited at the end of 2021 after having invested €232 million in operating solar PV assets in Italy. 

Before joining the NextEnergy Group, since 2013 he has been specialising in renewable energy investments, first working in a corporate finance boutique and then at EOS Investment, where starting from 2015 he was Investment Associate in the investment team. He started his professional career as an intern in the ALM and Credit Treasury teams of UniCredit Bank in Munich. 

Lorenzo graduated in the Master of Science in Finance from Bocconi University in 2012. 

Fausto joined the NextEnergy Group in 2015 and he is currently leading the technical team of Starlight in overseeing the development of renewable energy projects in multiple countries and spearheading the integration of cutting-edge technologies within the organization. 

Previously he was a Technical Director at NextEnergy Capital, supporting from a technical perspective the financial investment team in the deployment of the capital raised by NextPower II, a private equity fund managed by NextEnergy Capital which was successfully exited at the end of 2021 after having invested €232 million in operating solar PV assets in Italy. 

Before joining the NextEnergy Group, Fausto has gained over 8 years of experience in the renewable energy sector, spread across different fields from engineering, project management, development and permitting to the construction, O&M and asset management. He was the head of the O&M department at Belectric Italia and also covered leadership roles in Alpine Green Energy, ASP Solar and Spes Engineering, a Enel Green Power affiliated company. He is also CEO and Co-Founder of a renewable energy solutions company, providing energy management services to SMEs. 

He graduated in electronic engineering at the University of Catania in 2005.

Michele joined the NextEnergy Group in 2015 and he is currently General Counsel of Starlight, leading a team of internal lawyers engaged in the support of the development activities across various jurisdictions and technologies. 

Previously he was General Counsel at NextEnergy Capital, supporting from a legal perspective the financial investment team in the deployment of the capital raised by NextPower II, a private equity fund managed by NextEnergy Capital which was successfully exited at the end of 2021 after having invested €232 million in operating solar PV assets in Italy. 

Michele has extensive experience in the renewable energy sector, with a focus on M&A, project financing and asset management. He started his renewable energy career in 2007, involved in the development, construction and financing of several solar PV plants in Italy. In 2009, he became the head of the legal department at Etrion, an independent power producer that owned and operated utility-scale solar power generation plants, providing legal assistance in developing, building, financing and operating c. 60 MW of solar PV assets in Italy. 

Michele holds a Bachelor’s degree in Law, with focus on civil and commercial transactions, from the Bocconi University of Milan in 2005.
